Delicious Hunger

An old Vietnamese saying says “Cai kho lo cai khon” which means: from difficulty, emerges the wise.   Another saying, which I can't remember where I read it, “The resourceful man might go hungry, but won’t starve.”   Even Steve Jobs said, “Stay hungry, stay foolish.”   For my entire life I have always wanted more. More resources, more time, more money. I felt that the key to happiness would be having more.   Funnily enough– the reality has been opposite. I find the more resources, time, and money I get– the fatter and lazier I get. Sink or Swim

I think a lot about happiness and progress in life. I want to live a happy and fulfilling life. I don’t want to feel stagnant or hitting roadblocks. I want to fulfil my creative potential and live a life without regrets. I want to suck out the marrow of life.   I think one of the greatest tragedies is when photographers stop shooting. I know a lot of difficulties occur in their lives of these photographers, they get busy raising families, busy with work and they lose inspiration.   I once read somewhere that in life we have to keep moving or else we atrophy and die.
